On August 22, Rx Compassion gathered with friends, supporters, and members of the Sanibel community to share its mission of healthier pregnancies and safer births. The event was hosted by Rachel Pierce and Cecilia Jane Liichow of John R. Wood Properties at Home by Rachel Pierce.

Rx Compassion founder Dr. Clarel Antoine spoke about his work in maternal-fetal medicine and the importance of making cesarean deliveries safer through better education for physicians and mothers.

The event also marked the beginning of an important new effort in Florida. Sanibel was the first city in Florida to recognize Placenta Accreta Awareness Month in October 2025. The City and its residents have embraced this mission, and a group of committed supporters is now coming together to form a Florida committee for Rx Compassion.

The committee will work to spread awareness, reach physicians, engage the medical community, and make sure women understand Placenta Accreta Spectrum and other complications associated with C-sections.

We are grateful to everyone who attended, supported the event, and believes in this mission. Sanibel has been an important part of the Rx Compassion story, and we look forward to building on that support throughout Florida.

Healthier pregnancies. Safer births. Changing Cesarean Outcomes in Our Lifetime.
