A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Antoine is a world-renowned OB-GYN who has dedicated over 40 years of compassionate maternal-fetal care to thousands of patients spanning multiple generations.

For decades, Dr. Antoine has brought a compassionate, individualized approach to the thousands of women who have been a part of this patient community for generations. Passionate about women’s health, he has tirelessly worked on improving maternal and child health, particularly striving to reduce the complications associated with cesarean section delivery. His revolutionary surgical techniques are changing the way mothers experience that procedure, the healing process and the subsequent decisions they make about growing their families.

In addition to addressing the various risks associated with cesarean births, Dr. Antoine is devoted to a broad range of women’s reproductive health concerns, including recurrent pregnancy loss, contraception, annual screenings, pelvic infections, abnormal uterine bleeding, menopause, fibroid tumors, ovarian cysts and many other conditions.

Among his awards and honors are the Compassionate Doctor Award and the Patients’ Choice Award, earned every year since 2009 from WebMD’s Vitals.com and presented to those doctors who have annually earned near-perfect ratings, as voted by patients. Only 1% of all doctors in the United States are bestowed this honor.

Research:
Inspired by Compassion

Dr. Antoine’s research concludes that placenta accreta is caused by a uterine scar defect where the uterine lining meets the uterine wall, and his groundbreaking surgical technique of layer-to-layer closure of the uterus is the key factor in preventing placenta accreta and its far-reaching consequences in subsequent pregnancies.

Dr. Antoine’s recent peer-reviewed publications include “Endometrium-free uterine closure technique and abnormal placental implantation in subsequent pregnancies” published in The Journal of Maternal-Fetal & Neonatal Medicine and “Origin of a post-cesarean delivery niche: diagnosis, pathophysiologic characteristics, and video documentation” published in the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine. These publications document Dr. Antoine’s most groundbreaking endeavor yet — to reduce and possibly reverse the growing trend of placenta accreta.
